Game 1 Summary :
With second place in the league being contested between the Manchester A's and Liverpool, not to mention a place in the AAA championship, the Trojans needed to win both games of the double header with the Jaguars to keep their season alive.

The moving pitching rubber clearly affected the control of Martin Godsall, as a series of hits and walked batters put the Trojans under pressure early in the game. The Jaguars took full advantage and quickly built an early lead.

It was walked batters that let the Trojans back into the game, Mitch Cross struggling with his control on the mound. Dave Matrin-Baez's double in the top of the third cashed in a couple of runs.

By this time Godsall had regained his composure on the mound and kept Liverpool in with a shout. It was walks again in the 5th inning that was to be Haltons undoing. A base hit for Paul Smith and RBI's for Harry Wren and Ian Blease was enough for Liverpool to move ahead.

It was Harry Wren and Dave Martin-Baez who drove in the runs in the sixth as the Trojans were crusing to a comfortable victory.

Game 2 Summary :

The Trojans spirits were high as Ian Smith took the mound for the second game of the double header. Alan Alger seems a to attract the baseball as he was hit by a pitch for the third time driving in the first run for Liverpool. Take it for the team was the cry from the bench. Three times is taking it bit too far though.

The Trojans then let loose with a ten run second inning, the highlight being a three run shot from Dave Martin-Baez. Sadly it was lack of control from the Halton pitchers that was to be their downfall yet again.

Liverpool had pitching problems of their own as Ian Smith began to struggle in the bottom of the fourth. Smith eventually was replaced on the mound by Harry wren, who after a shaky start, steadied the ship.

Liverpool added another six runs in the fifth to secure the win and hopefully, second place in the league standings.

The Trojans now qualify for the AAA championships being held in Harrogate on the weekend 5/6th of September.
