Game Summary
Player problems for the Patriots forced the umpire to declare a forfeited in the first game, as only 6 players were present 90 minutesafter game time.
Game 2 saw the last of the Menwith squad arrive, having done a tour of Liverpool first.
Martin Godsall, starting for the Trojans, had an extended warm- up and came out ready for business, striking out two in the first. Rob Orme started the inning with a base hit, followed by a strikeout by Godsall, then a walk for Mike Waisome. Chris Kumeta then came to the plate and cleared the bases with a 2 RBI triple.
The second inning saw Menwith struggle again offensively with Godsall registering another two strikeouts. The Trojans in contrast had a breakout inning scoring seven runs. Mike Waisome clearing the bases with a well hit double.
Adam Dove drove in the only run for Menwith in the top of the third, however the Patriots momentum came to nothing due to their inconsistency at the plate.
Inconsistent pitching was a bigger problem for the Patriots conceding 13 base on balls during the game. The Trojans only needing the occasional hit to drive in the base runners.
Ian Smith, at second, turned a fine tag out, throw out, double play to keep the fourth inning scoreless. However, the game was over by this stage and the Trojans ran out comfortable victors.
