Game 1 Summary :
A dense fog descended upon RAF Menwith Hill for the visit of the Liverpool Trojans. Heavy overnight rain made the main diamond unplayable, despite extensive off-season improvements to the playing surface. A makeshift diamond was prepared and the delayed game went ahead as the fog slowly lifted.
Eric Cortina, starting for the Patriots, made a strong start striking out the side to keep the Trojans scoreless in the top of the first. The Patriots cashed in on some fist game jitters as the Trojans gave up three unearned runs in the bottom of the first.
The Trojans had their wake-up call and delivered a six run second to crush the confidence of the Patriots.
From that point forward, the Patriots struggled to maintain any kind of consistency in their attack, and with Martin Godsall in top form, the Patriots failed to score another run.
New boys, James Cleavenger (1stBase), Andy Bulger (Catcher) and Evgeni Zapryanov (Third Base) made significant contributions as the Liverpool Trojans cruised to a comfortable victory.
Martin Godsall had an outstanding game, giving up just six hits, with 12 strikeouts.

Game 2 Summary :
The second game of the double header showed up the defensive weakness of the Patriots. With a series of pitching changes the Patriots failed to contain the Trojans batters as they hammered home their advantage.
Andy Martinez on the mound for the Trojans, did a good job containing the Patriots as they struggled to maintain any sustained attacks. Cortina hit the only Patriot home run of the game with a solo shot in the third.
The Trojans replied with a home run of their own when Evgeni Zapryanov launched a solo shot over the left field fence in a lively fourth inning. Chris Kumeta, also making his debut for the Trojans, narrowly missed a two run homer when the ball was judged to have hit the base of the fence.
Overall, the Trojans should be happy with their performance as their extensive squad showed great depth, in both their offensive and defensive play.
