Game 1 Summary :
The top two teams in the Northern division met for the first time this season. Victory for the Trojans would give them a commanding lead at the top of the league table.
Both teams got off to a quiet start, each going down in order in a scoreless first inning. Manchester took an early lead in the top of the second thanks to a pass ball and an error on the play. Liverpool were shut down in their half of the second inning as the Trojans struggled offensively. The Eagles continued to build on their lead with a two run shot from former Trojan Danny Allen, in the top of the third.
The Trojans found themselves five runs down before long, and it took a a bit of good fortune in the forth inning to finally put a run on the board. Base hits for Harry Wren and Mike Waisome, coupled with a few throwing errors from Manchester gave the Trojans the foothold they needed.
Martin Godsall, the Trojans starter, got stronger as the game went on and kept his team in the game as the Trojans offense caught fire. A two base hit for Choi started the rally, followed by hits for Paul Mason and Ian Smith. Harry Wren kept the pressure on with an RBI base hit, setting the table for Dave Mercado to drive in a 2 run shot - his third of the season.
The Eagles looked dejected as the Trojans took the lead, a lead that they never gave up, scoring four more run in the bottom of the sixth including an RBI for Ian Smith and two RBI's for Paul Smith.
The Trojans displayed their fighting spirit throughout and kept their focus despite the early setback of a five run deficit.

Game 2 Summary :
Mike Waisome took the mound in the second game of the double header, following a grueling first game in the blazing Bootle sunshine.
A steady start for Waisome allowed Liverpool to build a slender lead, largely due to some wayward pitching from Manchester. The Eagles offence came to life in the top of the second however, as Minoma hit a solo home run, followed by an RBI double from another former Trojan, Rob Denham. A wild pitch brought in another run as the Trojans gave up their slender hold on the lead.
Waisome struck the side out in the top of the third to give the Trojans a chance to display why they are the top scoring team in the league. The inning started with a double for Ian Blease to set up an RBI opportunity for Ian Smith. Smith duly delivered as the Trojans offence moved up a gear. A base hit from Kwang Shik Choi, set the table for Mike Waisome
to drive in a three run shot, his second of the day.
The Eagles were down for the count as Waisome continued to dominate on the mound. Mike Waisome ended the day with fourteen strikeouts and showed again the effectiveness of a lefty on the mound, picking off two baserunners.
Some good defensive play all round from the Trojans, in particular from Ian Blease and Harry Wren ensured another comfortable victory for the unbeaten Liverpool Trojans baseball club.
