Game 1 Summary :
The Liverpool Trojans traveled to Allen Field in Manchester to take on the Eagles in what proved to be a contrasting pair of games.

The game started quietly, with both sides going down in order in the first inning. Paul Smith Doubled to open the second inning, as Liverpool moved ahead, from a couple of fielding errors by the Eagles. Paul Mason drove in the fourth run of the inning with a well hit double.

Liverpool's big hitters were on show as Paul Smith drove in a solo shot in the third to extend the Trojans advantage. Not to be outdone, Mike Waisome stepped to the plate with bases loaded and hit a majestic shot over the left field fence to clear the bases, his first grand slam with the Trojans. Dave Mercado and Paul Smith also took the ball deep but were unlucky to find the outfielders.

Rob Orme drove in the final run of the game, as the rampant Trojans marched on to a 15 game unbeaten streak.

Game 2 Summary :
The rain had been threatening all day long and arrived just as the first game ended. The second game was delayed for 30 minutes as the thunder rumbled above. Finally, the rain relented enough to start the game. Despite the wet ball, both pitchers show good command and kept the scoring down in the early innings.

The first run of the game was scored on an error in the top of the second, with some sloppy play by the Eagles infield. The Trojans were never really in the game and soon found themselves behind, as the Eagles began to apply the pressure.

At 3 -1 in the fourth, the Trojans were still in with a chance, however, a three run shot from Manchester's Luis Arrevillages effectively put the game beyond reach. The Trojans did load the bases in the fifth but failed to capitalize. Eagles starter, Yasu Minowa, continued to pitch well throughout the game, as the Trojans struggled offensively.

Mike Waisome, on the mound for the Trojans, showed signs of fatigue as the Eagles went in for the kill. Manchester loaded the bases twice in the sixth and ended the game with a three run shot from Manchester's top hitter, Luis Arrevillages. It's been a long time since the Trojans have lost a game on the slaughter rule, but a defeat will remind the Trojans not to let compliancy creep into their game.
