Game 1 Summary :
On a wet and windy afternoon, the Liverpool Trojans took on the Birmingham Maple Leafs in the return fixture, having taken the first two game in Birmingham earlier in the year. The rain was on and off throughout the game, but never heavy enough to stop the game.

Martin Godsall was back from a two week break full of energy, and quickly retired the opening batters. The Maple Leafs opener, David Hughes, in contrast looked like he need's a two week break, after the Trojans came out with all guns blazing. Hits by Waisome, Alger, Orme and Choi along with seven walks by Hughes effectively killed off the game as a contest. The wet ball played a big part, but credit to both infields as only 2 errors each were committed all game.

Godsall took the long lay off between innings in his stride, despite the cold conditions, and soon put his side back into bat, with a strong second inning. Hughes began to find his range, but the Trojans showed no mercy and drove in three more runs to put the game out of reach. The Maple Leafs did manage two late unearned runs but it was never going to trouble the undefeated Trojans.

Game 2 Summary:
Game two, and the drizzle continued. The Maple Leafs started the game well and took a slender lead in the top of the first. As if the Trojans needed a wake up call, the first inning was even better than the last game. The Trojans sent 19 batters to the plate in what turned out to be a disasterous start for Hughes.

Mike Rodger eventually replaced Hughes on the mound for Birmingham, and did cut the scoring rate down, but the damage was already done. Mike Waisome, on the mound for the Trojans, pitched a commanding game and didn't allow the Maple Leaf offence to mount any concerted attacks, limiting them to just two hits.

Some decent infield play by the Maple Leafs kept the game interesting for the small but dedicated crowd. The Trojans are now 7 - 0 on the season with the next game against Division 1 side, Bolton Blaze. Bolton are currently 1 - 5 for their season.
